London, 1850. Maude Horton knows something isn’t right. Her sister Constance embarked on a reckless adventure, running away from the room she shared with Maude, disguising herself as a boy on board a ship going to the Arctic, and then never came home. ‘A tragic accident’, they said, but it’s just not adding up. When Constance’s hidden journal is slipped to Maude, it becomes clear that Constance had kept many secrets from her sister. Between why she had to get away from London in the first place and then getting caught up in the schemes of devious and powerful men on board, did Maude know her at all? It’s up to Maude to find out what really happened and get justice for her brave, but often unwise, sister. But there are strong forces determined to keep the truth from the light and she’ll need some of Constance’s courage to face them.
