About the Author

Moti Nandy (1931-2010) was one of the few writers in the world to have created an entire body of fiction centred on sports. A Sahitya Akademi award-winner and former Sports Editor at the Anandabazar Patrika, he wrote more than 25 novels in Bengali for adults, and as many for children and young adults.

Menaka Raman is the author of 16 books for young readers and has written on parenting for The Indian Express, DNA and The New Indian Express. She is also a regular books section contributor to The Hindu Sunday Magazine and has written features on travel and culture for Vogue India and Mint on Sunday.

Ranjit Lal is the author of 45 books—fiction and non-fiction—for children and adults who are children. His abiding interest in natural history, birds, animals and insects is reflected in many of his books. He lives in Delhi.

Arunava Sinha translates classic, modern and contemporary Bengali fiction, non-fiction and poetry into English. Over forty of his translations have been published so far. Born and educated in Kolkata, he lives and writes in Delhi.
