In The Life of a Tiger, S. Eardley-Wilmot invites readers into the enchanting world of the jungles of north India, where the majestic tiger prowls as both predator and as an emblem of untamed beauty. This richly woven tale captures the essence of the tiger’s life, from its hunting practices to the challenges it faces in a rapidly changing environment. The tiger encounters both natural predators—other tribes of the jungle such as the elephants and the wild dogs—and the encroachment of humans, turning him resilient and instinctive. Suitable for young readers and adults alike, this captivating story not only entertains but also educates, encouraging all to reflect on the fragile relationship between nature and humanity.

A forestry officer and conservationist, Eardley-Wilmot had spent much of his adult life studying the awe-inspiring beauty of the Indian jungles and wildlife. With vivid imagery and evocative prose, The Life of a Tiger is an unforgettable journey in discovering the wild spirit of this king of the jungle.
